The premiere of A Doll’s House by acclaimed Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1879 sparked a wide-scale discussion about the position of women in society. The story of a fragile and helpless young woman Nora who is forced by circumstance to open her eyes and claim her independence, continues to fascinate stage directors to this day and has been brought on stage countless times. What are Nora and her surrounding world like today?
