This play by one of the most exciting Polish playwrights Janusz Glowacki (1928–2017) offers a version of what happened to Chekhov’s three sisters after they finally reached Moscow.

This Moscow, however, is not a place of dreams from the era of Chekhov, but a Russian metropolis twitching in the agony of early capitalism where impractical intellectuals are confronted by ruthless businessmen and swindlers. Instead of Moscow, the new promised land is now the Hollywood film industry that seems to open an inviting door. In a broader sense, this dark comedy with absurd and grotesque elements speaks about people who are unable to admit to themselves that they live in a hopelessly obsolete community.

This play will be directed by the renowned Ukrainian stage director and theatrical pedagogue Stanislav Moissejev who was the artistic director of the Ivan Franko National Theatre in Kyiv for many years.

Premiere on 9 December 2023 at the Small Building of the Vanemuine Theatre
