The concert pays special respect to Enn Uibo, Enn Tarto, and every Estonian friend of Hungary who stood for freedom in 1956 and subsequently suffered under Soviet repressions.

Guitar Madness (Hungary)
István Gyárfás (guitar)
Attila Rieger (guitar)
Gábor Szalay (guitar)
Márton Soós (double bass)
Balázs Cseh (drums)

The commemorative concert marks the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, honoring Estonian dissidents Enn Uibo, Enn Tarto, and their compatriots who suffered Soviet repression for defending Hungarian freedom.

The program features the ensemble Guitar Madness presenting their album "Hommage à Gábor Szabó"—a tribute to Hungary’s preeminent jazz guitarist, who fled his homeland following the violent suppression of the uprising. Through original compositions, the ensemble traces the milestones of Szabó’s life: from the Voice of America broadcasts that carried his playing across borders in November 1956 and the zenith of his creative career to his eventual return home and untimely death.

Organised by Vanemuine Concert Hall, the Liszt Institute Tallinn and MTÜ Loovüksus.
