Description
At the end of September, World Tourism Day is celebrated around the globe, and to mark the occasion, we invite you to discover Tartu Market!
How well do you know Tartu Market Hall and the Open-Air Market? What stories are hidden within the walls of the nearly century-old Market Hall? How has market trading changed over the years, and what is everyday life at a market really like?
The free guided tour begins at Tartu Market Hall, by our beloved Roosi, where we will explore the history and architecture of the building, hear stories about market trading in Tartu, and take a closer look at places and details that are easy to miss during an ordinary visit.
From there, we will continue to the Open-Air Market, where we will talk about modern-day market life, seasonality, our vendors, and how traditional market culture has changed over time.
