Description
An art exhibition that consists of 1001 tiny birdhouses. Every house is different and hand made. Most are approximately 4x6 cm in size. A total of five display shelves hold the 1001 houses. Everything can be viewed up close. If the library is open, the exhibition is open.
A serendipitous art project completed over several years with long pauses, mainly using found materials. The first house inspired subsequent iterations, all connected by shared lines. A symmetrical number offered a compelling reason to stop. Above all, this was an exercise in creativity with the simple purpose of making something interesting to look at.
